Ashton Cleaning Services (SW) Ltd has been cleaning across Exeter and Devon for over 20 years. We are usually looking for reliable people, and we would rather train the right person than hire the wrong experienced one.
What it is like working here
Most of our cleaners have been with us for years, and a number of our customers have had the same person visiting their home or premises for a decade. That is not an accident — it comes from putting people on regular rounds rather than moving them somewhere different every day.
The work is real work. It is physical, it is often early or late, and it is done properly or not at all. In return you get consistent hours, the same sites, and a company that has been here since long before most of its competitors and intends to be here afterwards.
We are Safe Contractor approved and Citation PLC members, we are fully insured, and everyone who works for us is vetted. Training is given for specialist work, and there is a route from domestic cleaning through to commercial and specialist work for anyone who wants it.
Current roles
Domestic cleaners
Regular household cleaning across Exeter and the surrounding area, working to an agreed schedule with the same customers each week.
- Weekday daytime hours, part-time or full-time
- Own transport preferred — customers are spread across Devon
- Experience welcome but not essential; we train
- Vetting required
Commercial cleaning operatives
Offices, schools and commercial premises, worked outside the customer's opening hours — early mornings, evenings and weekends.
- Early morning, evening and weekend shifts
- Regular sites, so you get to know the buildings
- Suits people who want hours outside the school day
- Vetting required, DBS for school work
Specialist and floor operatives
Floor restoration, builders cleans and deep cleaning. The more technical end of the work, with training provided on machinery and method.
- Full-time, with variable hours around job requirements
- Training given on floor machinery, extraction and method
- Physically demanding work
- Driving licence needed
